Tony Lambino, a Philippine national and Athgo alumnus, is a consultant at the World Bank’s Communication for Governance and Accountability Program (CommGAP) in the Development Communication Division. Tony’s work centers on culling and synthesizing the best ideas and good practices on the integral role of communication in driving governance reform and accountability mechanisms worldwide. He also provides analytical support to CommGAP’s operational portfolio in Cambodia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.
A Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication, Tony is writing his dissertation on cross-national public opinion and international trade policy. Tony also holds an M.A. in Communication from Penn and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, which he attended as a Fulbright Scholar. He has worked for the Office of the President of the Philippines (Manila), Internews Europe (London, U.K. and Amman, Jordan), and the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (Washington, D.C.). Tony received a B.A. in Communication from the Ateneo de Manila University, cum laude, and was named one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines for 1999.
