Decarlo, Mark
President, GreenHouse Videos
Long before Mark began visiting over 400 cities to sample the cuisine and idiosyncratic culture of real people on the Travel Channel’s “Taste of America with Mark DeCarlo,” he enjoyed portraying pretend people with The Second City, as a founding member of the legendary troupe’s West Coast Company.
Mark performed in original revues before the quake-ravaged Mayfair Theater in Santa Monica closed in 1990. Episodic TV and films led to a hosting gig on a dating show. A STUD became a breakout hit in syndication, but was cancelled at the peak of its popularity after 580 episodes when Mrs. Rupert Murdoch decided that the show was ‘Too racy for Fox.’ Huh Next, Mark was the creator, executive producer and host of the late night comedy/talk show Goodnight America. In 1997, Mark returned to Fox hosting Big Deal, a primetime Sunday night comedy show.
Mark also hosted the popular FX late night talk/comedy, The X Show. Other TV includes; Seinfeld, Evening at the Improv, Matlock, The Ben Stiller Show, HBO’s Tracey Takes On, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Let’s talk cartoons. Mark’s voiced characters on; Duckman, Real Monsters, Rugrats, in the #1 IMAX Box Office hit Santa vs. The Snowman, Ant Bully, and is a regular in Steve Oedekirk’s THUMB-series of SHOWTIME comedy specials, including ThumbTanic, Thumb Wars and The Godthumb.
Mark can be heard daily on Nickelodeon on “Back to the Barnyard,” and as perpetually flummoxed Hugh Neutron on “Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius.” Among his favorite film roles, Mark played God in the romantic comedy Three Days, atthe Chicago International Film Festival. He’s also appeared in Three to Tango, A Wake in Providence, and A Fare to Remember, Betty Thomas’ R3, Raising Helen from Garry Marshall, Raising Genius, a comedy with Wendy Malick and Steven Root. He’s also starred in Sex Sells: the Making of Touche and Mobsters & Mormons. Mark wrote and will star in the feature film Mr. MOJO, a romantic "comedy with the Blues." Current projects; GREENHOUSEVIDEOS.com – a series of How To Green your home videos and radio that promotes innovative ideas and appliances for home building, and the BOFFO the BEAR show – a game show hosted by a cartoon bear.
Mark lives in the Hollywood Hills with an empty fridge, a dog named Jazz, and a gorgeous Cubana, waiting for the Cubs to win the World Series.
